Representation

To be a representative interlocutor of the associative world

Representation

An association representing a group of associations plays a crucial role in supporting, representing, and coordinating its members. Its role can be multifaceted and adapted to the specific needs of the associations it represents. Here are some of the most important roles:

1. Representation and defense of interests:

  • Collective spokesperson : The representative association acts as a single spokesperson for all its members with public authorities (local authorities, State), institutions (CAF, France Travail), partners (companies, foundations) and the general public. It can thus defend the common interests of member associations and make their voices heard on issues that concern them.

  • Lobbying and Advocacy : She can conduct lobbying and advocacy activities to influence public policies and decisions that impact the nonprofit sector. For example, she can participate in public consultations, question elected officials, or organize awareness campaigns.

  • Collective bargaining : In certain cases, it may negotiate collective agreements on behalf of its members, for example regarding collective agreements, preferential rates or access to services.

2. Support and assistance for member associations:

  • Information and documentation : It disseminates relevant information to its members on legislative developments, calls for projects, best practices, etc. It can provide tools, guides and documentary resources.

  • Training and professionalization : It organizes training, workshops and conferences to strengthen the skills of volunteers and employees of member associations in various areas (administrative management, accounting, communication, fundraising, etc.).

  • Advice and assistance : It offers personalized support to member associations by answering their questions, advising them on specific issues and directing them to the right people.

  • Networking and sharing : It promotes exchanges and sharing between member associations by organizing meetings, events and working groups. It can also set up tools for sharing resources (premises, equipment, skills).

3. Coordination and development of the sector:

  • Network animation : It animates the network of member associations by creating links, promoting cooperation and encouraging joint initiatives.

  • Development of collective projects : It can initiate and coordinate collective projects which benefit all member associations, for example studies, experiments or communication actions.

  • Monitoring and foresight : It monitors the issues and trends affecting the non-profit sector and anticipates future developments.

Quarterly meetings will provide an opportunity to review current actions. Contextually, working meetings may be initiated upon request.
